Before last night, I hadn’t heard Governor Sarah Palin say a word in her life. I didn’t know if she could speak or not. I started to wonder if they spoke English in Alaska.
The only things I knew about her was what I heard in the news everyday about her daughter being pregnant and her husband getting paid from the oil company and the speculation about her trying to get her brother-in-law fired.
But when I heard her speech at the Republican National Convention last night, I was kinda blown away. I didn’t watch it, just listened to it.
She didn’t talk about herself much so I don’t know much more about her expect she’s a hockey mom and was in the PTA at her kids’ school.
She didn’t say anything new about the issues if you’ve been keeping up at all.
What blew me away was her voice.
Her voice reminded me of a teacher that I had back in my younger days. She has that generic, older lady voice who is in charge and tells you what to do.
Just based on her voice and the things she was saying about “their opponent”, she almost had me convinced because she had that authoritative, older white female voice that I grew up having boss me around. It subconsciously stirred something in me that made me feel like I had to believe her and do whatever she said.
It was the weirdest thing that happened to me EVER!!!
I’m interested to see if the tone of her voice continues to affect me in the same way.
Did her voice or anything else about her affect any of you in that way???
Update: Narendra sent me a link that lists out a few of Palin’s lies in her speech last night.
