As I’m sure you know (how would you), my sister got a puppy a few weeks ago. During one of the many moments of genius that creep into her being, she named him Cooli O.

I got 2 fish to keep my desk company when I’m away. They’re called Black Moors. They don’t do much besides swim, eat, and poop. I think I’ll get a piranha next and see how they all get along.

The History of MAD Cat

A friend of mine’s sister has a cat that they named Dr. Claw in reference to the Inspector Gadget cartoon. I get just a little bit disturbed every time I hear that because the cat’s name wasn’t Dr. Claw. Its name was MAD Cat.

I went to the site with all the answers (wikipedia) to read up on MAD Cat and get their overly verbose explanation of MAD Cat’s life. I chuckled the whole way through. Here’s a copied and pasted version for you.

MAD Cat

Since the viewers never saw Dr. Claw’s face (or his body) in the cartoon series, MAD Cat was another way to reinforce Dr. Claw’s emotions. When Dr. Claw was happy, MAD Cat would laugh and snicker along with him, or for him. When Dr. Claw was angry, MAD Cat would follow through with his terrible yowl.

Dr. Claw showed great affection for MAD Cat, stroking the sinister feline often. This became a trademark of his on the show (other than his “hands” shtick, though the two are often indistinguishable). However, Dr. Claw was also sometimes an abusive pet owner, and would bully MAD Cat when he perceived the feline as annoying. In an episode that took place in the first season, Dr. Claw was depicted laughing over a triumph, and MAD Cat, in typical “copycat” manner, laughed along with him. Dr. Claw then demanded what the cat was laughing about, adding furiously, “I did all the work!” An episode or two later, Dr. Claw was engaged in tongue-lashing his minions. MAD Cat did the same. Dr. Claw again abused the cat and angrily growled out that he was that one who gave the orders. Sometimes MAD Cat didn’t have to do anything at all to inspire punishment, and Dr. Claw’s maltreatment was almost casual or even unnoticed and reckless on some level. In more than one episode Dr. Claw would simply slam down his fist, not caring where the cat was in his anger or if his pet would escape in time. (However, in one episode, MAD Cat was ready for him and glued his fist to the desk) Dr. Claw once broke MAD Cat’s Inspector Gadget toy bank after Gadget foiled one of Dr. Claw’s plots, and MAD Cat cried uncontrollably. In another, he simply caressed the feline’s head until it hurt, with MAD Cat’s expression betraying discomfort. MAD Cat always forgave Dr. Claw (often by the next scene).

MAD Cat seems to understand English well: in Launch Time, MAD Cat takes instructions from Dr. Claw and operates the controls of the Mad Jet (firing a missile).

My Cat Will Eat My Face

I’ve always heard rumors of pets eating their owner’s dead body if the body isn’t found within a few days and the pet gets hungry. I thought it was the craziest thing ever! But I’m pretty sure my cat will eat my face if I’m not found within one day of dying in my sleep.

If I’m not awake by 7am, my cat Munchytoes will jump in the bed with me and start rubbing her head on my hand. That usually wakes me up and I go feed her. Sometimes I’ll roll over and ignore her. Other times, I’ll just lay there and let her have her fun.

When I just lay there, after about five minutes of being ignored, she’ll get pissed and give my hand a little nibble to wake me up. I usually get startled then and she’ll jump out of bed and run to her food dish. Most of the time, I’ll feed her then. No one likes getting bitten awake. Well, I occasionally do but that should be saved for another site.

But I figure one day when my soul has left this wonderful specimen that you call my body, she’ll give me a little nibble and when I don’t move, she might take a chunk or two. Once she gets that first taste of succulent human flesh, she won’t stop until there’s no more of me to eat. And with my body being 99.9999999999999999991% lean muscle, she can eat from my corpse for at least a month! Hopefully someone will realize I haven’t been around by then.

I Have the Allergy

I was heading to church early this past Sunday morning. I got on the elevator and what did I see???

A guy standing there with a big fat, gray cat in his arms.

I got on the elevator and smiled because it’s always great to see a cat in my apartment complex where cats aren’t allowed. I also smile to let the person know their secret is safe with me (like they care).

I thought we were safely heading to the first floor and no one else would know his secret. I was wrong.

The elevator stopped on the third floor and four people got in! Three guys and one older lady. I bet the guy almost pooped his pantaloons.

As soon as the elevator door closed, the lady started sneezing. She was holding her nose and mouth shut but the lethal cat poison already got in!

The lady would NOT STOP SNEEZING!!!

We finally made it to the first floor and I couldn’t hold my laughter any longer. I almost fell on the floor from my maniacal laughter.
