I’ve started using that in my daily life. Anyone who asks me a question, I ask them at least one back. It makes job interviews more fun. It also gets you interested in people and let’s people know that you’re interested in them.

I talked to a guy who gets free front row seats at MMA fights because he takes pictures of the fights and the fighters. I found out how he got to that point and realized it was basically an accident and the benefit of putting yourself out there, being willing to fail, and being at the right place at the right time.

But back to the book, it’s full of euphemisms which Kanye says he uses in his actual life. It’s not a long book but it’s very interesting.

Some of the quotes are able to stand on their own and he doesn’t provide any explanation for it. But others, he gives experiences from his past that explain why he subscribes to that proverb.

The design is also interesting. The quote (or sometimes, the most important piece of the quote) will usually be given huge letters while the explanation is given in normal text. I think that was done to make sure the important part sticks in your mind while you absorb the reasons the way you’d absorb anything you read.

It’s 52 pages and one of my favorite books of the year. If you’re in my area, I’ll let you borrow my copy or you can buy it at Kanye’s blog for about $10.

Sucks To Be a Role Model

I was thinking last night about how much it must suck to be a role model. I mean to be in the public eye all the time and aren’t allowed to ever do ANYTHING wrong. And if you do something slightly inappropriate because you’re human, people make a big fuss about it and you have to explain yourself.

I could slightly relate to it while I was grilling great steaks and chicken last night. I saw some of those fake french fries in the freezer that all you have to do is bake them in the oven and they’re all french fry like. I used to eat those all the time before I got on my quest for sexiness.

I wanted to bake a few since I usually carb up over the weekend. Also because those fake fries didn’t have any hydrogenated oils.

But!

I realized a while ago that people pick up habits from the people they hang around. So if I decide to gobble up a few unhealthy fries, whoever I’m around might want a few too. That’s no good for anybody!!!

It’s one of the smallest things in the world to worry about but if it’s someone you care about, you should do what you can to look out for them, right?

So I stuffed those fries back in the freezer to help everyone in the house!

Rich Vos at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse

I saw Rich Vos at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse.

He was HILARIOUS!!! I even got a chance to yell out “BABY DIAPER MUSTACHE” while he was on stage. I think he liked that.

I couldn’t imagine being a stand-up comedian. The only time you could really show how funny you are is when you’re on stage. Otherwise, if you’re out to dinner with friends or associates, they expect you to be extremely hilarious like you make funny happen all the time. On-stage funny is different than dinnertime funny.

Jermil Martin: Good Football Player, Better First Name Holder

Jermil Martin is probably a very nice gentleman. However, I know very little about him. The only thing I know is that he plays football, has my first name, and stole the #1 google search result for jermil.

Not only that, at one point he had results 1-4! A financial planner with an awesome name had #5. And I was stuck in oblivion for a search on MY OWN NAME at #6.

Something had to be done.

I looked up ways to improve search engine results for a specific word or phrase. Most bloggers use it for their own blogs about whatever topic they write on. They call it Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of books have been written on SEO and there’s a bucketful of information on the interwebs.

If you want to know how to get your lasagna lovers blog up to #1 in a google search for lasagna lovers, look into SEO and you lasagna lovers can UNITE!!!

But back to the topic…

Jermil Martin stole my top ranking in google from me! Jermil Sadler wants it back.

Kiefer Sutherland’s Going to Jail

Kiefer pleaded no contest Tuesday to a misdemeanor drunk-driving charge. Sutherland was stopped in West Hollywood after making an illegal u-turn a little after 1am on September 25th. It was apparent to officers at the scene that Sutherland was drunk, and when tested, his blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.
