Fixing Google Sync Problems on a Blackberry Curve

Within about two weeks of getting my first Blackberry, I had an issue with the charging port and had to get a new one. But I already set up all the programs and everything that I wanted on there.

A few of the programs that I put on there were linked to my Blackberry pin which is based on the actual phone. So I had a few problems after I got the new phone.

One problem was with the Google Sync program that keeps your Google Calendar matched up with the calendar in the Blackberry.

When I put Google Sync on the new Blackberry, everytime it tried to match the two, it would copy whatever was in my Google Calendar over and over again. I would end up with multiple copies of my appointments in my Blackberry. Quite annoying!

I found a way to fix this on one of the many Blackberry forums online.

First, I uninstalled Google Sync.

Then, I followed these steps…

1. Open the Desktop Manager that came with the Blackberry.
2. Connect the Blackberry to the computer.
3. Double-click “Backup & Restore”.
4. Select “Advanced”.
5. Wait for the “Device Databases” list to populate.
6. Scroll down the list until you find calendar and highlight it.
7. Click the Clear button under the list.

That clears your calendar.

Then I reinstalled Google Sync and told it to sync with the Google Calendar. Everything was wonderful after that!

Hope this helps anyone else who gets stuck in the same situation.

Deleting Multiple Texts on a Blackberry Curve

I get my emails sent to my Blackberry Curve. They show up like a text message. It’s good because you get notified whenever you have a new email. But it sucks when you get 4 notifications at once and you’re sitting in front of a computer so you can check them there.

I wanted to know how to delete more than one text at a time so I did a quick google search.

All you have to do is hold down the caps lock key and scroll through all of the messages you want deleted. Then push the menu button and select delete. Done!

You can also press ‘t’ and that will take you to the top of your messages.

Any other Blackberry tips and tricks are welcome here!
