I saved an old guy from getting walloped at an intersection.

We were both waiting at the crosswalk waiting to walk in the same direction. After the light changed, we both expected that the white walking creature would appear and we would be able to walk.

I noticed that this white walking creature did not appear. I realized this was because the traffic light that should have turned green became a green left turn arrow instead.

Unfortunately, the old guy whom I shared the crosswalk with didn’t notice that and committed himself to crossing the intersection.

I saw him dash out and the white walking creature not appear and left turning traffic prepare to introduce itself to his hip bone.

My first thought was, “Wow this is going to be interesting!” But I decided that I wouldn’t use his life for my entertainment purposes today.

He was almost to the middle of the intersection when I yelled, “Hey hold up!” He stopped and looked back at me like I was crazy.

Right then, a mail truck crossed less than five feet in front of him. He got spooked and froze until I started crossing and got out to where he was. He started walking with me and telling me how appreciative he was. He was telling me he had something was on his mind and wasn’t even paying attention.

He was almost worry-free for the rest of eternity.

I went to catch the movie No Country for Old Men today. It was a good movie but the ending kinda blew. Even BDK thinks so.

When I first got inside the theater, only about 15 people were there. I took a seat third row from the back and near the middle. The seats weren’t very comfortable but good enough. The theater seats about 150 to 200 people.

Some old couple with a bucket of popcorn each came and stood behind me for a minute. They whisper to each other then come around and sit down right next to me when there were at least 125 seats left in the theater.

RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!

It was nuts. I thought I was on one of those candid camera shows. I started looking around for a video camera.

After a while, the lady got up. As she scrunched by her lover, she made him spill some of his popcorn. He mumbled some old people expletives as she traipsed away. I chuckled inside. That’s what karma dealt them for trying to swipe some of my youth by sitting next to me in a movie theater.

I thought it was going to be me and maybe two friends out celebrating my resignation. But I get to work on Monday and within an hour, someone hands me one of these flyers.

Apparently someone set up a surprise get-together there for me. I would’ve been expecting two people I knew and there were going to end up being at least 10.

Could’ve been exciting. It’ll still be fun.

Credit to Janel for making the flyer. Credit to Nathan for spilling the beans.
