Be a lover, not a hater.

I hadn’t really planned to do anything this evening.

I had something in the back of my mind but I wasn’t really planning on it.

I was more looking forward to watching The Shield and adding to my wonderful story about my temporary roommate.

But rather spontaneously, I decided to go to the Old Dominion Brewhouse in DC. The Junkies were supposed to be there hosting a Texas Holdem game at 8pm. I got there around 7:15 and there was a line. They were only taking the first 50 people to play. You pay $20 and the top 5 people get in free to the Junkies Poker Open next weekend and a free night at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City where the top winner gets around $35,000. I figured I could drop a Jackson for that.

So there was a line which didn’t start moving until about 8:15. The cutoff was about 20 people in front of me. Ah well. I bounced and debated whether to call a friend of mine that I knew was out on the town. I decided to get a jumbo slice in Adams Morgan and head home instead. Oh… no ladies there except for two Junkettes (Kat and Kara). Sadness but it was expected.

I get out there and remember that parking is heinous. I did find someone pulling out of a spot almost as soon as I get out there. But the spot is reeeeeeal tight and my parallel parking is shameful. I gave up on that spot and headed home instead. I did make a mighty spectacular quesadilla that was wayyyyyy better than a greasy slab of cheese and meat.
