If you have any, give them to me.
I don’t have a balance to my life. I spend 8 hours a day at a place that pays me to be there when I’d usually rather be elsewhere. And I’m sure that I don’t spend another 8 hours in that same day doing something or being somewhere that I do enjoy. But I’d doubt that anyone with a full-time job has an additional 8 hours for fun time. That doesn’t make it right though does it?
I do spend 30-60 minutes at least 4 times a week working out. That’s something that I enjoy doing and I get to watch the news during that time which is something that I would never do otherwise. Today, they had one of those Star Trek shows on the television. I caught the last 10 minutes of it and it was pretty corny. Some older guy stood on a treadmill under the TV watching it. The second it went off, he changed the channel to the news. I couldn’t tell if he was interested in the show or if he was waiting for it to go off so he could change it before something equally lame came on.
I used to have a problem with getting to bed at a decent hour. By used to, I mean as recently as last week. This week, I’ve been fine but that’s only counting Sunday and Monday night.
On Sundays, I usually make a plan for the rest of the week as to what I want to do after work. However, I usually end up actually doing maybe 2 out of 10 things on the list. I figure that’s because I’m more spontaneous than I am premeditated. Also, because when I make my wonderful plans, I include people in my mind without yet asking that person. So when I ask them, if they decide they aren’t interested, it throws off my plans and I end up doing something else depending on what it was.
I found this article which has suggestions to improve time management.
I’ll put my story up tomorrow. I didn’t take the time to edit it today. I also told a friend of mine what it was about and they want to read it and help me edit it. Fun…
Be well.
